Successful Blogger with Sedentary Attitude

How do you measure Success when your Health is in obvious Jeopardy? Recently, we had the opportunity to assist to this Dinner Conference about Social Media, how to use it in our favor, secrets exposure, "only the successful people knows", you can imagine the tons of comments and personal experiences, everyone more or less thought that, their concepts were the best because, that work in their case. Many of the participants are friends and former neighbors since we all kept in touch after we moved away 5 years ago and, of course some new people that we've never met before. One of the active participants and case in point of "Success" was this young man (that I remember last time I saw him was about 18 and very much a loner geek) Well, now to my open mouth surprise he is a "Successful Blogger" and about 180 Lbs overweight yes, my amaze was so obvious because, he used to be a very skinny guy. Me and my husband look at each other and wonder what ever happened to him. Although, I promise, did not want to be that direct, we engaged into a conversation with him and through it, I guess he felt my wonder and he casually mentioned that its been a few years that all he does is seating in front of the computer no one but, several latest tech electronics that he can afford. He went to tell us that, he does "not take breaks for is a waste of time", he order pizzas and all sort of fast food serve and eaten (yes! you guessed it) by his computers in his Studio, hardly ever go out, this Reunion was a rare occasion for him to leave his home, can't say the same for his addiction to texts or whatever he was doing Smart Phone on hand. I always knew the young man had a lot of potential I just never knew that because his sedentary way of living would awake obesity in him and yet, very reluctant to make any changes. At one point he did refer as "a small price to pay for his Success" ... Really? It was quite clear that he does not have the minuscule intention to modify his lifestyle not to incorporate an exercise regime and balance nutrition and immediate health check up. By his comments I got the impression that he thinks that he can loose that weight and get back in shape "anytime he wants to" "because youth is on his side" Really? So, we enjoy the reunion and all those well kept and uncover "just for us Social Media Success Secrets" However, I'm so sad of the fact that, this young man with so much potential don't know or choose not to know that Belly Fat is not only unsightly but insidious kind of fat. "Those who store fat in their bellies are at higher risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain cancers compared to those who store fat in their hips and tights" By Elizabeth Agnvall "Battling Belly Fat" in AARP Bulletin July-August 2012 Isn't Success the definition of an ideal equilibrium (the closest possible to ideal) of our way of living? Personal Care, Family, Work/Career (pay bills), Spiritual fulfillment & Recreation in my humble opinion these are the base of our lives and when you rearranged your priorities overlooking the proper balance, things could get out of hand and the consequences might not be the way we predicted them. We all know that we all have ONLY one live and we have NOT second chances to make it right. Be smart my friends, introduce equilibrium into your life and be Happy!
